As some of you have already seen us, we made our way back home to New Orleans. It's been great getting to see family and friends again. Of course now we're job searching so we'll see where we end up next. We've had a few interviews already but still waiting to hear back from those companies.
Some people here at home and especially in Australia have asked us why we moved there for a year. Apart from the fact that Shawn graciously received a Rotary Ambassadorial Scholarship and earned a master's degree, we wanted to see something different and challenge ourselves. Sometimes we get too comfortable with what we have (even if it's not that great) and allow fear to deter us from trying something new. Believe me, I was very weary about moving on the other side of the world and leaving our family, friends, dual incomes and great food behind. However, we got on the plane to Australia December 30, 2010, spent all of 2011 there and never looked back since. Well, we came back, but you know what I mean. We don't regret living there for one moment. As you can tell from our blog and pictures, living in Australia was an incredible experience filled with lots of opportunities for us to mature as people and as a married couple. We made great friends and will always have a love for the land Down Under.
